BCORE21 is an EU Erasmus+ Project dedicated to addressing key educational challenges through clearly defined missions that align with our organisational ambitions and long-term vision. The project has three missions to reflect a commitment to transformative change and are designed to inspire new approaches and solutions for learners worldwide.

There are five partner organisations, including An Taisce's Green-Schools Programme, coming from across Europe. United by a commitment to future-proof education, and an aim to make learning relevant, accessible, impactful, and engaging for young learners aged 5 to 18 from diverse backgrounds.

The three missions blend each partner's ambitions, strengths, and needs. We plan to co-create impactful learning concepts through insights from world experts, resulting in ambitious, realistic projects. The goal is to inspire teachers, students, policymakers, and education enthusiasts with innovative initiatives in education.

Foster Youth Participation — mission to ensure that cities and communities will have active child participation initiatives, enabling children to contribute to sustainable development.

Intercultural Sensitive Classrooms — mission to enhance teachers' capacity for intercultural sensitivity, creating significantly more inclusive classrooms cultures.

Learn to Make a Change — mission to enable children to contribute to solving real-life problems through high-quality, meaningful, interdisciplinary learning.

The Challenge

In today's world, children need more than subject-specific education to learn how to navigate complex real-life issues. Many schools still teach solely isolated subjects, limiting students' ability to connect knowledge across disciplines and apply it practically.

Interdisciplinary learning fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. However, many schools struggle to balance subject-specific and high-quality interdisciplinary learning, leaving students without a holistic understanding of the world.

The aim is to support education, ensuring every child learns to think deeply and broadly and act meaningfully, preparing them to positively impact their communities and beyond.
