An Taisce invited to join Ireland's Nature Restoration Plan Leaders' Forum Nature Restoration Plan An Taisce was invited to join the Leaders' Forum for the drafting of Ireland's Nature Restoration Plan. It had its first meeting on the 25th of March. Dr Elaine McGoff, Head of Advocacy is representing An Taisce at the Forum. Pictured at the first meeting are — from left to right — Dr Elaine McGoff, Dr Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin and Sinead O'Brien, co-ordinator of the Sustainable Water Network. This high-level, cross-sectoral dialogue was the first in a series of meetings designed to drive a coordinated, strategic approach to nature restoration and ensure long-term environmental and economic resilience. The Forum convened key stakeholders to discuss the overarching trajectory of the national restoration plan, develop a vision, and address the challenges of restoring ecosystems at scale. The meeting was ably chaired by Dr Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin. The Leaders’ Forum will convene again in the summer, with future discussions planned for key thematic areas such as financing restoration, integrating nature into economic planning, and leveraging technological innovations for ecosystem recovery. The Nature Restoration Plan holds the potential to be a game changer for restoring Ireland's nature, and we will be doing our best to push for an ambitious, equitable and transparent plan for the wellbeing of nature and our communities.
